Erie Institute of Technology has been named by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) as a 2017 School of Excellence. ACCSC is recognized by the United States Department of Education as the designated institutional accrediting body for over 650 post-secondary, trade and technical schools that serve 150,000 students each year. In 2017 only 14 schools received the School of Excellence designation.

The School of Excellence Award is ACCSC's most prestigious institutional award and recognizes Erie Institute of Technology for their commitment to the expectations and rigors of ACCSC accreditation, as well as the efforts made by the institution in maintaining high-levels of achievement among their students.

"Erie Institute of Technology is honored to be recognized as a School of Excellence by the Accrediting Commissions of Career Schools and Colleges," said Paul Fitzgerald, Director. "EIT is committed to preparing every single student for a successful career in today’s workforce. The faculty and staff are committed to supporting our students both in and out of the classroom - in their educational pursuits and career goals."

As noted by ACCSC's Associate Executive Director, Christopher Lambert, "In selecting Erie Institute of Technology as 2017 School of Excellence, the Accrediting Commission took note of the schools consistent commitment to the expectations and rigors of the ACCSC accreditation process as well as a commitment to delivering high quality educational programs and services to the students, graduates and employers that deserve our best work. The entire ACCSC organization looks forward to celebrating the school’s significant achievement at the 2017 Professional Development Conference scheduled for September 25-27, 2017 in Reston, Virginia”
