GE Apprentice Training Graduation Spring 2012


Erie’s largest employer, GE Transportation sent ten apprentices to Erie Institute of Technology for 700 hours of technical training in January. The apprentices have attended classes for 40 hours each week through May 2012.

The GE employees have completed training in the following areas: Technical Mathematics, Manual Machining, CNC Machining, Blueprint Reading with GD & T, Fundamentals of AC/DC Theory, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Programmable Logic Controllers, Computers, and Statistical Process Control.

A graduation ceremony was held at Erie Institute of Technology on May 17. The next step of their training will be to do rotations for six months throughout GE Transportation’s Erie plant.

Erie Institute of Technology is an accredited technical training school that is located in Erie, Pennsylvania and offers programs in electronics, computers, and manufacturing.
